THE STORY OF BUXOM ENVY’S PLUS SIZE LINGERIE AND BRA OFFERING

Buxom Envy was first started as a business by Paul and Sue, bringing together two different areas of strength and expertise that have combined to make the brand what it is today. It’s also what makes Buxom Envy’s plus size lingerie offering so unique in the current marketplace.

Paul brings with him firsthand experience of what it feels like to live with a plus size body, whether it’s been a lifelong journey, or one recently brought on by illness, aging, or as a result of natural causes. Having experienced a major car accident that impacted his ability to exercise and lose weight, he experienced what it was like to navigate one’s body in a society that easily dismisses certain weights and body shapes as unattractive.

Most designers and retailers view the plus size market as an afterthought, and don’t acknowledge what plus size individuals want and deserve, as many clothing and apparel options as any other person.

THE STORY BEHIND BUXOM ENVY

Using this firsthand experience as motivation, Paul realised that he wanted to counteract this negativity by offering women a way to feel beautiful and attractive, in defiance of what society dictates.

He partnered with Sue, who brought with her to the business over two decades of customisation experience. Over her many years of helping women of all shapes and sizes fit themselves for clothing and lingerie, Sue realised that off the rack items just don’t cut it for most people. She realised that while she could try to educate women on the importance of the correct fit when choosing clothing or undergarments, it didn’t really solve the problem if she couldn’t at least point them in the direction of a company that would be able to do so for them.

When they came together, they decided that they would focus on making lingerie that plus size women would love, that would last a long time, and would be offered through the perfect customer experience. This lead to the establish of the Buxom Envy online fitting experience, where women from all over Australia could get accurately fitted in a matter of moments, all via their online service.
